Customer Service Notes:
The pH Probe (gel-filled) should be kept wet with the proper liquid at all times during storage. The pH Probe Storage Bottle (#LCL-0668) contains potassium chloride solution for this purpose - to keep the gel-filled membrane from dehydrating. If the gel membrane dehydrates, you may be able to reenergize the membrane by soaking it in a pH 4.0 buffer solution for at least 8-hours. Proper operation of the unit will include the requirement of using De-Ionized water solution (#LCL5115-N) to rinse the probe before testing and before storage of the pH membrane probe. pH Electrode Storage Always keep the pH sensitive membrane wet. Electrodes should not be immersed above the barrel. Short term storage (overnight) - Soak the electrode tip in pH 4 buffer/0.1 molar KCl. Store upright. Long term storage - Replace the electrode cap containing pH 4 buffer/0.1 molar KCl. Store upright.
General Cleaning Procedure
1. Soak the pH electrode in 0.1 molar HCl for 30 minutes. Rinse. 2. Soak the pH electrode in pH 7 buffer for 2 hours. Rinse
CAUTION: Do not use halogenated hydrocarbons, petroleumether etc. for cleaning purposes on plastic bodied combination electrodes. |
