  DPD Reagents

The "DPD" method is acknowledged as the preferred method of chlorine residual measurement in drinking and other chlorinated waters. Whether you use a digital instrument or an optical comparator, DPD reagents are always required.
DPD #1 for the measuremen of Free Available Chlorine, the most common daily testing requirement
DPD #3 is added to the finished Free Available Chlorine test sample. The finished sample with the DPD #3 added will be Total Residual Chlorine.  The Combined Chlorine result is the Total Chlorine residual LESS the Free Available Chlorine

 DPD Powder Pop® Dispenser

The Powder Pop Dispenser is a hand-held single dose dispenser 10 mL samples that deliver a precise, pre-measured dose of DPD reagent directly to your sample. Each Powder Pop includes enough reagent for 400 tests.

NOTE: Dispenser should be handled carefully. Do Not Drop the membrane dispensing system will no longer function

 DPD TesTabs®

lcl6999r

As the only North American manufacturer of DPD tablets, LaMotte has replaced a 35-year tradition of using common foil-on-foil strip packaging for DPD and other common TesTabs with a new user-friendly package. Now the user can easily dispense each tablet by simply pressing the tablet through the new foil blister.
LaMotte first introduced DPD into the American market in 1969 in its original foil package that required the user to carefully tear open a small pocket formed in the foil that surrounded the tablet. The foil strip had to be cautiously tilted to dispense the tablet into a desired sample tube. The new foil blister carries the customary 10 tablets per strip but in a more convenient and compact 3.25" by 1.35" size.

LC4564
LC4565

In addition to this significant packaging improvement LaMotte Company has also created a new formula for DPD that greatly improves disintegration rates. While the basic ingredients remain unchanged to comply with EPA standards, specialized processing techniques, and new ingredients allow the tablet to dissolve in several seconds.
Since DPD tablets are highly moisture sensitive a unique hybrid foil was used to create the specially formed blister necessary to protect the 3-year shelf life of the tablets and offer analysts the desired press-through feature.

Use DPD "r" (rapid) type for all NON-ELECTRONIC colorimeters. "Visual grade"
Use
DPD "i" for all ELECTRONIC colorimeters. These are called "Instrument grade"

 DPD LIQUID REAGENTS

The liquid alternative to DPD tablets can be used with existing chlorine comparators or colorimeters. DPD 1A and DPD 1B are added to a 5 or 10 mL sample to test Free Available Chlorine. DPD 3 is added to the reacted sample to measure Total Chlorine.

60 mL [2 oz.] bottles contain enough reagent for 288 tests
